SAU 21 Article 5: Term of the Moderator

Are you in favor of changing the terms of the school district moderator from one year to three years, beginning with the terms of the school district moderator to be elected at next year’s regular school district meeting? CITIZEN’S PETITION by 25 or more registered voters of the school district. (Majority vote required)

What it means: This petitioned article is suggesting that beginning with the 2017 voting cycle, the SAU 21 Moderator term would be changed from a one-year term to a three-year term.

What people are saying: Other Moderators in Town have 3-year terms. Three years gives the elected Moderator time to become more experienced in the role.
